Welcome to Virtual Church

Kenton Baptist Church

Sunday 2nd May

Today we think about the peace that Jesus can bring into our lives if we trust in Him - a peace that we all long for. The Bible tells us that Jesus is our peace (Ephesians 2.14) - He has broken down the sin barrier that separated us from God so that we can enjoy a real relationship with the One who loves us and wants the best for us. Trusting Jesus brings a peace that passes understanding: peace with God and peace even amidst challenging situations.

Today our focus goes to the One who offers peace and is in control, all-powerful and all-knowing... the One who says, "I am with you, do not fear!" When we choose to focus on Him, though we may feel tired and weak, our faith rises, our spirit soars and our strength is renewed. (Isaiah 40:31)

So let's declare our praises to the One in whom we trust and lift high the mighty name of Jesus: He is the 'Peace in our troubled sea,' so we need not fear. Let's sing in the middle of the storm and raise a 'Hallelujah!' to the God of our salvation for He is with us in all circumstances and has made our eternity secure in Jesus.

Father God, thank You that we can come into Your presence through the precious blood of Jesus knowing that we will find grace and mercy. We come to bow down before You in worship and to honour You with our lives. We come to lay ourselves before You today and ask for You to move by the power of Your Holy Spirit. We want more of You, Lord, so we must give You more of ourselves. Come and have Your way in us - set us apart for You.
