Welcome to Virtual Church
Kenton Baptist Church
Sunday 9th August
Meditation from 'Let Your God Love You' by Edwina Gateley
'Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; His understanding is unsearchable.'
Isaiah 40 v 28
Today we come to praise and worship God knowing we are loved and understood.
Reading Psalm 8, we can echo the words of the writer 'How majestic is Your name in all the earth - You have set Your glory above the heavens' and 'When I look at Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?'
And yet the Bible tells us that God demonstrates His love for us in this: even while we were still sinners, Christ died for for us. Let's proclaim His greatness, praise Him for His love and mercy and draw close to Him with thankful hearts.
led by Jack.
Let us also pray for those we know of personally who are in need at this time.
Our Bible Reading is taken from Acts 8 v 26 - 40 and is read by Sonia
Father God, once again we come back to the foot of the Cross to give You our lives. May we never fail to be amazed at Your love for us and the fact that You gave Your only Son to save us. Jesus - Thank you for freely giving Your life so that we can be saved from the power of sin and death and we can now enjoy new life in You. What amazing love.....for us! We come to worship You in Spirit and Truth - our Saviour, our Lord, our Redeemer and our Coming King. Hallelujah!
When the music fades
The Power of the Cross
May I never lose the wonder
Lord even though those of us in the church building cannot sing aloud, we all nevertheless offer you the praises of our heart. May we indeed come back to the heart of worship and own that it is all about you. Open the eyes of our heart that we may see you in all your glory and take us to the foot of your cross where we may feel its power and come to be cleansed from our sins. May we have ears to hear wondrous things from your Word and obey it. Amen.
Acts 8 v 26 - 40
