Welcome to Virtual Church
Kenton Baptist Church
Sunday 8th August 2021
Psalm 46:1 says "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea."
This Psalm goes on to say that God is always with us, He is our help and that we need to be still so that we can truly realise that He is God, that He is in control and that He will be exalted no matter what appears to be going on. This knowledge builds our faith and gives us the strength we need. We see in our Bible reading today that God has promised never to leave us or forsake us - (Joshua 1:5) - we are never alone.
So Lord, we look to You. May we come into the glory of Your presence this morning as we set this time aside and dedicate it to You. We ask for a mighty out-pouring of Your Spirit so that we will truly know that YOU are God. We sing our praises and lift up Your name to declare Your victory, Your love and Your faithfulness knowing that we are held in Your hands and that You are with us.

Let us also pray for those we know of personally who are in need at this time.

Our Bible reading is from Joshua 1:1-9 (ESV)
and is read by Mariam.
James 4:8 says "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you."
Father, we come right into Your throne-room through the precious blood of Jesus and we draw close to You now in worship to spend more time in Your presence.
Jesus, we give ourselves to You as we bow down to honour You as King of Kings and affirm Your Lordship over our lives. We declare our love for You, our Saviour, Redeemer, and coming King. Thank-you for Your love and faithfulness - You alone are God and we exalt Your name.

Great Is Thy Faithfulness
Thank You Lord that Your Word teaches, encourages, corrects us and builds us up. You know where each one of us stands before You right now - nothing is hidden from You!
Lord, draw us closer as we listen to Your Words of truth and may each one of us have a fresh encounter with You today as we wait in expectation to be touched and changed by the power of Your Spirit. Amen.
