Welcome to Virtual Church
Kenton Baptist Church
Sunday 5th September 2021
God cares for us! Paul, writing in Philippians 4.19 says: "And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Very often we take this as a promise for material needs, but God created us Body, Mind and Spirit, and will supply all our needs in these areas too. God knows us and understands us totally - He watches over us and knows our ups and downs - times when things are going well and times when things threaten to overwhelm us. He has promised never to leave us, but to be with us in the hard times, to care for us, strengthen us and renew us. Psalm 23 says "He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul."
This is God's care and His promise to us. "They who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40.31
This morning we are humbled as we come before our God. He is the Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth, He is powerful and His name is great - yet He love us with an everlasting love and wants us to bless us. Father, we have come to meet with You, and to have an encounter with You today so that our lives will be changed for Your glory. Holy Spirit, we welcome You as we sing our praises and proclaim the greatness and the goodness of our mighty God.

Our Bible Reading is taken from
1 Kings 19:1-8 (ESV),
and is read by Murline.
Father, we thank You once again that we can come before Your throne of grace and thank You for who You are - our faithful God - the One who is constant and never changes, the One who is good and whose love endures for ever.
Thankyou for accepting our worship today through the precious blood of Jesus. Lord Jesus, thankyou that You know us by name and that our names are written on the palms of Your hands - thankyou that you sacrificed Your own Your life so that we could know peace with God. We worship You and You alone, giving thanks for Your faithfulness and goodness.

Lord, we thankyou for Your Word. We come to hear what You have to say and to seek Your face again... because when we seek Your face, there is peace, healing, wholeness and restoration. Let Your Word change, soften and restore our hearts and bring direction into our lives so that we move forward in faith to bring glory to Your name. Amen.
