Welcome to Virtual Church
Kenton Baptist Church
Sunday 3rd January
At the start of a new year, we come once again to thank God for His faithfulness to us and for being with us over the last year, both through our joys and through our sorrows. We thank Him for being the One who knows us completely and the One who truly understands how we feel.
God's plans for us are good - plans to give us hope and a future. At the start of this new year, we can commit our lives to God afresh and have new hope and a new start in Jesus!
So today let's come with thankful hearts to praise and worship the God of our salvation. Let's thank Him for His love and faithfulness to us, let's lift high the name of Jesus our Saviour and bless Him - because the Bible tells us that 'God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us' and that everyone who trust in Jesus and calls on His name will be saved. (From Romans chapters 5 & 10) and now we can truly belong to Him.
led by Lesley.
Let us also pray for those we know of personally who are in need at this time.
Our Bible Readings are taken from Matthew 8:1-4 and Proverbs 3:5-6
and are read by Sheila.
Father God, Thankyou for sending Your only Son to pay the price for OUR sin. Thankyou that because of Your goodness and mercy our sin-debt has been totally paid by Jesus and we have been truly set free.
Lord Jesus, we come to give You all the glory and all the honour and to lay our lives down before You in worship. Thank You for loving us just as we are; may we truly engage with You this morning. Holy Spirit, we welcome You - come and take control - do Your work in us and may there be a real sense of Your presence with us as we worship.
Prayer: Lord, we pray that Your Holy Spirit will move amongst us as we listen to Your Word. You know our hearts and where we stand before You right now and where You want us to be. Please speak to us through Your Word, minister to us and draw us closer. We wait in expectation to be touched and changed by the power of Your Spirit. Amen.
