Welcome to Virtual Church
Sunday 28th March
Kenton Baptist Church
Palm Sunday
Palm Sunday - As Jesus entered Jerusalem, the crowds acknowledged Him and shouted, "Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!"
They were cheering Him as the long-awaited Messiah, but many were hoping He would be the answer to the Roman occupation - a powerful military and political liberator. God had other ideas! He sent His Son Jesus to be a very different kind of Saviour - who would give His own life to reconcile us to God - and One who had power, not just in the political realm, but in all heaven and earth! Power to reach from past and into the present and the future, power to cleanse us from all sin, power to liberate us from evil and power to save us into God's presence! We come with so much praise in our hearts today, knowing that our God saves, knowing that we are loved, knowing that we forgiven, free and no longer condemned - thank You Lord.
Let's lift up the name of Jesus and honour Him with our praises this morning! Let all that is within us worship Him as we lift our 'Hosannas' to the King of Kings.

Intercessory Prayers
led by Richard.
Let us also pray for those we know of personally who are in need at this time.

Our Bible Reading is taken from Colossians 2:6-15
and is read by Genevieve.
Father, we thank You for Jesus and today, as we come once again to the foot of the cross, we bow our hearts in worship and adoration: we are humbled by Your kindness and mercy. Our debt is paid in full by the precious blood of Jesus - no condemnation, no guilt or shame, sin has no hold on us and death has no sting!
This is real love - not that we first loved God, but that God loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins and bring us forgiveness. (1 John 4.10)
Holy Spirit, let us worship in Spirit and truth today. We are forever grateful for the Cross. Amen.

Prayer : Father, thank you that Your Word is true, active, living and powerful. Lord, let Your Word breath life into us, revive us, challenge us and grow us in our knowledge of You. Holy Spirit, please open our hearts to the power of the Cross in our lives so that we realise who we truly are in You. Amen.
