Welcome to Virtual Church

Kenton Baptist Church

Sunday 23rd May

Today is Pentecost Sunday - a time when we celebrate the birth of the Church and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said that when the Holy Spirit came, He would convince the world of sin, of God's righteousness and of the coming judgment. It is the Holy Spirit who works in our lives to bring the realisation of how much we need God's love, mercy and forgiveness. It's the Holy Spirit who gives us a passion for more of God and it's the Holy Spirit who gives us power and boldness to stand up for the truth.

The promise of the Holy Spirit is for all those who trust in Jesus - to strengthen us to live lives for the glory of God, to anoint us to fulfil His purposes and to be powerful witnesses for Him wherever we live. Jesus said, "You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8

His Holy Spirit wants to fill us so that our hearts can be ablaze with His love. So as we declare our praises today, let us also say 'Come, Holy Spirit - breathe on us - search our hearts - fall on us today - convict us - renew us - revive us and light the fire within us again.!"

Lord Jesus, thank You for the gift of Your Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord that we can come right into the throne-room forgiven and cleansed by the precious blood of Jesus. Holy Spirit, lead us in worship today - we wait in expectation as we bow before the throne of God and acknowledge His great love and mercy. Have Your way in us. Amen
