Welcome to Virtual Church
Kenton Baptist Church
Sunday 20th September
You are invited to have bread and wine ready if you wish to participate in Communion today.
Father, we come to worship You this morning and to acknowledge that You are Almighty God - the One who sees all, knows all and holds all things in His hands. The One who knows all about our past, our present and our future. Lord, let Your grace and mercy flow today as we praise You and lift up Your name. Only You are worthy of our praise and adoration. We come to worship You in the splendour of Your holiness, knowing that we can do this freely because of Your great love to us.
Lord Jesus, thankyou for Your promise that when we trust You, if we confess our sins You are faithful and just and will forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1 v 9)
Psaml 86 v 5 says 'For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you.' Lord, You are holy and majestic - there is no-one like You. No-one else could rescue us from our failings and no-one else would offer His only Son as the ultimate sacrifice that bought us our salvation - only a holy God! We come today to praise You for Your grace and mercy.
Every Praise is to Our God
More Than Conquerors
Our Bible Reading is taken from Luke 4 v 1 - 13
and is read by Winston.
Thankyou Father, that we can approach Your throne with confidence and come right into Your presence because the precious Blood of Jesus has never lost its power to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Thankyou, Lord, that You have paid our debt in full - sin and death no longer have a hold on us - we are free! We come to foot of the cross again to worship You and we give You all the praise and all the glory. Jesus - Saviour, Messiah, Redeemer, King of Kings -Thankyou for Your victory and for all You have done to purchase our freedom.
Prayer: Thankyou, Lord, that Your Word is truth that brings life to us. 'Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another—showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way.' (2 Timothy 3 v 16 The Message) Please breathe on us now by Your Holy Spirit so that we hear and receive all You have to say to us - Show us where we stand before You. Come and work in our hearts as we listen. Amen.
Pastor Steve's Message.
Luke 4 v 1 - 13
Before the Throne of God Above
For this part of the service, we invite you to have bread and wine ready to take part in this act of remembrance. We come to the foot of the cross again for mercy, cleansing and forgiveness and to surrender our lives once more to the King of Kings.
We hope you enjoyed your time with God in Virtual Church!
Sunday 27th September will be our Harvest Thanksgiving. While the bringing of produce and products for a Harvest Festival would be problematic this year, it is still important to celebrate God’s goodness.
We have decided to have a special collection, to be matched by the church, split between
Firm Foundation, a local Christian charity that helps the homeless and
Operation Agri’s special Harvest appeal for Tanzania : Time for Trees.
If you are not yet attending the church building and would like to donate,
please do this preferably by bank transfer to
CAF Bank 40- 52-40 a/c 00033559 reference :
Operation Agri or by cheque made out to Kenton Baptist Church. Thank-you.
