Welcome to Virtual Church

Kenton Baptist Church

Sunday 21st February

"It is good to give thanks to the Lord ..." Psalm 92:1

In our worship we come with thankful hearts to honour God Most High.  As we bring our praises to Him, let’s hold in mind His amazing, constant, faithful, love, a love that gives believers ‘a spirit ... of power and love and self-control’ (2 Timothy 1:7).  It is this most high God who from the beginning of time has loved, called and redeemed people.  In His Son, Jesus, God’s love has been shown to the world.  This Living God now draws us by His Spirit to join with followers of Jesus around the world in praise of Him as our Saviour and Redeemer.

Our Bible Reading is taken from Mark chapter 1 verses 29-34

and is read by Jack

Mark 1:29-34Jack

Jesus loves the whole world, but not as a mass or a crowd.  He loves people one by one.  He loved Peter’s mother-in-law.  He loved the many, many individuals brought to the door for help, for healing and wholeness.  He loves you personally, too.  His love is so great.

It is a wonder that such grace and beauty could reach each of us.  As we approach God’s throne through some more reflective songs, we pray that the Holy Spirit will enable us to receive and to live in this love whose height, breadth, length and depth has no limits.

Holy Spirit, please touch our hearts today as we honour the name of Jesus.

Father God, we come to the foot of the cross again to receive from your hand mercy, cleansing, forgiveness - and renewed power to serve the One who loved us, and laid down His life for us.

Prayer : Heavenly Father, please help us to desire your steadfast, faithful love as the foundation of our lives.  Lord Jesus, please help us to see you – the Living Word – in the pages of your written Word, the Bible, as Pastor Steve speaks to us.  Holy Spirit, please open our ears to hear what you want to say to us, our hearts to receive it and our wills to obey.  Amen
